Spending power improves in Q2 But consumers still squeezed

Discretionary spending power after inflation, (defined as income left after spending on essentials is deducted), was 0.4% higher in June than the same time last year. This compares to a 2.6% fall in December 2010, indicating that spending power has been steadily improving over the first six months of the year, according to the latest Lloyds TSB Spending Power Report.
