Service sector drives economic growth
11 April 2011
Latest data from the Bank of Scotland PMI report signalled ongoing expansion in the Scottish private sector economy, as growth in both output and new orders continued. The latter posted the strongest rise since August 2007. Furthermore, private sector firms added to payrolls at the fastest pace since February 2008. Cost pressures remained intense, meanwhile, as input prices continued to rise at a rate close to January’s twenty-eight month peak.
